Shattering magnesium disinformation
Magnesium poisoning? Seriously?!
If I asked you to name something that led to…
>> Addiction
>> Tolerance
>> Withdrawals
…what would come to mind?
Alcohol? Cigarettes? Hard drugs?
Nope! Not even close… at least according to online critic Medicine Girl.
So what does she attribute all of the above to?
Magnesium.
Yes, the same essential nutrient we use here at the Nutrition Detective to help people move from feeling stuck in health conditions they’ve battled for years…
…back to living a normal, boring life again.
And while “boring” may not sound exciting, for those who finally experience relief after years of frustration, that change is anything but small.
Medicine Girl refers to magnesium supplementation as part of what she calls the “Great Magnesium Poisoning.”
But if that were truly the case, would people like Carla be saying this about using magnesium?
“This magnesium has surpassed my expectations and I am delighted with the results. I feel so relaxed soon after the application and I haven’t slept this well in years. There’s no irritation, no smell, no itch. I wouldn’t even try another brand. Loyal consumer here, bravo!”
Or Heidi sharing this…
“This stuff is awesome. I only use 2 pumps per day, so it lasts quite a while. I apply it to my stomach and lower back. I sleep much better and I believe the magnesium has helped lower my blood pressure.”
And Grace, especially during cold, harsh winters, had this to say…
“Extremely happy with this magnesium lotion! I put it on my hands and feet right before bed. With the colder weather coming, my hands became very dry and even developed small cuts. This lotion healed my hands. I wake up with smooth skin, and I’m also sleeping longer stretches. I’ve used magnesium sprays before and never noticed a difference. I highly recommend this.”
Can Grace, Heidi, and Carla all be wrong?
For critics like Medicine Girl, testimonials may be dismissed as drug-like effects and mere anecdotes lacking control groups.
As a practitioner who has worked directly with people, I can tell you that lived results often reveal patterns long before labs catch up…
That said, I also understand skepticism.
Which is why in my Love Your Liver Livestream #229, I put together a detailed, research-focused presentation addressing what I call “magnesium missteps” being promoted by only her.
In this episode, I cover:
Actual chemistry (not theory or fear-based extrapolation)
Logical and scientific fallacies
Confusing magnesium metal with magnesium ions
And where legitimate concerns end and misinformation begins
If comments from Medicine Girl or others have made you question whether magnesium is safe, consider this episode the missing piece that brings clarity.
